Below is a list of for babies and toddlers. These are some of my very own personal favorites as well as others that have been recommended to me as well by people I trust - other home school families just like you!

Most of these books, if not all, are available as board books for longer durability. You know little fingers and hands need more than simple pages that could tear on accident.

Annie and the Wild Animals  by Jan Brett

Babies  (Discovery Toys flap book)

Baby Angels This is one of the first board books I ever got for my children. It is absolutely beautiful! It talks about how baby angels watch over our children and keep them safe near us even when we don't see the dangers.

Bedtime  (Discovery Toys flap book)

Before Five in a Row books

 Big Bird's Copy Cat Day

  Blueberries for Sal

   Books by Eric Carle

   Books by Max Lucado

Books by Sandra Boynton This is one of my favorite if not my most favorite author for this age group. My children love her books! She has some new collections where she has set the stories to music. The books come with a CD and the boys love these as well!

Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?

  Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

  Chicka Chicka 1 2 3

   Click Clack Moo--Cows That Type

Color Farm by Lois Elhert

  Corduroy

   Einstein board books.

Frog on a Log (Usborne Phonics Flap Board Book.) I want to get more of these. Kris can read them to Zac for extra reading practice and I don't have to worry about torn pages. Too bad Ted and Friends doesn't come in board format.

  Going on a Bear Hunt

 Goodnight Gorilla

  Goodnight Moon

Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney

Hippos Go Berserk by Sandra Boynton

How Do I love You?  by P. K. Hallinan

How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World

Hush Little Baby by Sylvia Long

I Love you as much... by Laura K. Melmed

I Love You Stinky Face This is a sentimental Boy book if I have ever seen one. I keep buying sweet "I love you" stories for the boys and they sit on the shelf collecting dust most of the time. Not true with this one.

If Jesus Came to My House

   If You Were My Bunny

  Jamberry by Bruce Degan

Just In Case You Ever Wonder by Max Lucado

  Lentil

 My Big Green Pocketbook

My First Book of Cars No story though just a large book about cars.

My First Prayer Series by Brimax

My First Words by DK books. I really like all of their board books. Especially the ones with the textures but they can get messy if the kids have dirty hands and are hard to clean.

Now the Day is Over This is a poem and rhyme book. It has some really cute ones and they are all very short. Perfect for short attention spans!

  Play with Me

Reading Rainbow books There are a lot of books that have been reviewed by this website over the years. It would be a lot of work to list them all here. Plus the website has so much good information, activities to go along with the books and more -- that it would just be best if you visited the site yourself! : -)

  Salamander Room

  Sheep in a Shop

  Sheep in a Jeep

   Snowy Day

  Swimmy

Ten Little Dinosaurs by Pattie Schnetzler

That's Not My Truck There are also other books in this series by Usborne .

The Egg

The Napping House by Audrey Wood

  The Runaway Bunny

There's A Wocket in My Pocket by Dr. Seuss

Tie-a-bow Book Usborne, also great for older kids needing to learn how to tie their shoes.

Time for Bed  by Mem Fox

Too Big For Diapers This book is getting worn out know of any good potty board books?

Tumble Bumble by Felicia Bond

By Candy Cane Press (Noah's Ark, The Easter Story, The  Christmas Story, etc)
